SYMPOSIUM 2023 in Norway
Dear Colleagues,
it is my pleasure to invite you to the 10th International and Interdisciplinary Symposium of theEuropean Academy of Land Use and Development (EALD).The Symposium will be held on the topic
Land use and planning for demographic and technological change
at the
Western Norway University of Applied Sciences
from
7th to 9th September 2023
The symposium aims to focus on land use and development in the context of exogenous change,with a special emphasis on demographic and technological change, which currently seems to beaccelerating in many jurisdictions throughout Europe and the rest of the world. We also welcome contributions related to other forms of change, including social, political, economic andenvironmental change. We hope to encourage submissions that address land issues in the contextof exogenous changes at different scales, ranging from work related to change and the impact ofchange at the individual, local or regional level, to work that addresses change nationally, in Europe,or beyond.
Presentations will be held on September 7th and 8th.
The event will be organized at the Western Norway University of Applied Science, in Bergen, Norway. The excursion is planned for Saturday September 9th visiting the older part of Bergen City including guiding about development of the historical part of the City. Bergen is changing and the light rail lines are important in thedevelopment of Bergen. We will during the excursion have a look at how stake holders handlingchanges in the transport system. The new Bike tunnels (3000m and 470 m) will be a part of the tour.

Please note: Each speaker will have 20 minutes maximum for the presentation (excluding time for short questions). If you are planning to attend the Symposium with an oral presentation, then please upload the title and an abstract of yourcontribution by 30th May 2022 to our formular

The board would appreciate if your collaborators and PhD students will also participate. As usual, the languages of the Symposium are English and German.Publication: The presentations will be published together with those of the next symposium held in autumn 2024. The papers will be peer-reviewed. Accepted symposium papers will be publishedin book format. All authors will participate in the peer-review process reviewing at least two articles.This allows us to continue our book series.
Approx. Fees:
• Symposium registration fee for members and non-members is 160 €. It includes lunches,refreshments and – for ordinary members – the membership fee for 2023.
• Symposium registration fee for PhD students is 110 €.
• Cost of conference dinner is 50 € and
• the excursion fee is 20 €.
Please note: Participants who have to withdraw their participation later than one month before the conference will be charged with 80% of the full registration fee.
End of June 2023, detailed information about program, registration procedure, payment, excursion, accommodation etc. will be provided.The final symposium’s program will be sent to you at latest one month before the meeting. The Symposium will be combined with a General Assembly.
